The Turkish occupation of Cyprus is illegal under international law, and, like the wider international community, the UK Government does not recognise the self-proclaimed separatist republic in the north of Cyprus.

I believe it is important that a balance be struck between not unduly penalising individuals who have made use of disguised remuneration schemes, and ensuring that there is justice for the vast majority of taxpayers who do not make use of tax avoidance schemes.
